Job Description |
We invite applications for the position of full-time Research Assistant or Junior Research Assistant for a project funded by the Teaching Development and Language Enhancement Grant (Special Funding Scheme for Development of Discipline-specific Artificial Intelligence Courses) to integrate AI into curriculum, pedagogies and assessment process of two Social Science disciplines. Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree or above in Social Sciences or related disciplines from a recognised university; (ii) excellent command in written and spoken English; (iii) experience in applying artificial intelligence to social research; (iv) experience in leading the production of micro modules; and (v) the ability to work independently, attention to detail, a sense of responsibility, high motivation, and an interest in pedagogical research. Those who are experienced in pedagogical integration of AI to social science studies will be an advantage. The appointee will be responsible for (a) researching how AI can be integrated into student learning in social science disciplines; (b) producing eight micro modules as outlined by the project; (c) conducting interviews and focus groups, analysing the data collected, and assisting in drafting progress and final reports; (d) designing class exercises and activities that enhance students’ AI literacy; and (e) performing other project-related tasks as assigned by the Principal Investigators and Co-supervisor. Appointment will be made on contract basis for ten months commencing early March 2025.
