Job Description |
Applicants should have a Bachelor degree, preferably a Master degree, in sociology or a social science-related subject. The appointee(s) will assist with courses in our undergraduate and/or taught postgraduate programmes. Duties include (a) preparation of course materials/ classes; (b) attendance to evening classes and/or daytime classes as assigned without overlap on the same working day; (c) support for teachers’ marking student assignments and student consultation/supervision; (d) assistance in student admission exercise; and (e) other duties as assigned.The appointment will initially be made on a contract basis for one to two years, renewable subject to performance and mutual agreement. Job Description | The Department of Sociology is inviting applications for the position of Research Assistant / Junior Research Assistant.
Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree or above; (ii) a good work ethic; (iii) expertise in programming using Stata/R/Python/GIS; (iv) familiarity with working with large-scale datasets; and (v) aptitude for learning new things quickly. Those who have a data science or computer science background is a plus. The appointee will work under the supervision of Professor HE Qian. Duties include (a) working on coding/programming assignments; (b) helping with research papers; and (c) performing ad hoc research-related tasks. If the appointee contributed adequately to the projects, co-authorships on research papers may be applicable. Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for one year commencing as soon as possible, renewable subject to mutual agreement.
