The Department of Sociology is inviting applications for the position of Research Assistant / Junior Research Assistant.

Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree or above; (ii) a good work ethic; (iii) experience in programming using Stata/R/Python; and (iv) a good command in written English. Those who have a data science or computer science background is a plus.

The appointee will work under the supervision of Professor HE Qian. Duties include (a) working on coding/programming assignments; (b) helping with research papers; and (c) performing ad hoc research-related tasks. Co-authorships on research papers may be applicable if the appointee contributed adequately to the projects.

Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for one year commencing as soon as possible, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
