CAI Xiaomin
蔡小敏
Xiaomin Cai is a Sociology Ph.D. candidate at CUHK. Her research and teaching interests span the sociology of reproduction, gender/sexuality, morals and markets, medical sociology, and science and technology studies. In her thesis, Xiaomin examines how Chinese lesbian women navigate the stratified institution of motherhood and experiment with the taxing process of assisted reproduction, speaking to broader dynamics and debates in gender, fertility, and medical markets. She received her Master’s degree from the Reproductive Sociology Research Group at the University of Cambridge in 2017.
